Interview: Dappled Cities – Extravagant & Highbrow

Dappled Cities bandmates Dave Rennick and Tim Derricourt dropped by the studio for a quick catch-up before the band’s upcoming performance at Sydney Festival. With single Born at the Right Time recently nominated for a SMAC (Sydney Music, Arts and Culture Awards) and their first album in three years Lake Air receiving high praise, all seems rosy within Dappled Cities.

Although there are conflicting reports that Dappled Cities are currently shacked up on a farm in the middle of nowhere working on a psychedelic mega-record and buying a big truck to record a triple album on the road, Dave and Tim confirm that indeed a follow-up to Lake Air is already underway and expected out in 2013.

The lads then go on to discuss what their fans can expect from Dappled Cities’ set at Sydney Festival. Performing with members of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Boys Choir, Dappled Cities are ready to put on the most “extravagant, highbrow show” the band have ever done.
