Interview: Darwin Deez at Groovin The Moo 2011

Darwin Deez is a pretty hip young guy from New York who formed his band while he was working at a Vegan Heath Food restaurant. While he’s been writing songs since the age of 11, neither his drummer or bass player had ever played their instruments before starting the band. When their first single Constellations was released in 2009 it sparked keen interest in the the UK press and shortly after the follow up single Radar Detector, NME was declaring Darwin Deez to be “totally fucking awesome” and included him in the Top 10 of their annual Cool List.

Despite the hype, Darwin Deez remains grounded with a sense of humour. He’s already toured Australia twice and on his second tour, as part of Groovin The Moo, MFTV caught up him with to chat about “The Hils” and becoming the “Hipster Jesus”.
