Interview: Dropkick Murphys – If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It

Currently in town as part of the wondrous Bluesfest, the great Dropkick Murphys caught up with the Music Feeds team prior to their sideshow with Frank Turner at Sydney’s Big Top.

With one foot placed firmly in punk, another in folk and the third leg landing wherever it chooses to land, the band have the envious problem of appealing to 2 different worlds. There is some overlap, though, and we spoke about about performing at a predominately folk festival as opposed to an event such as Vans Warped Tour.

Rocking up into town with their brand new album SIGNED and SEALED In Blood, we got chatting about the latest album in the Dropkick saga. The prior release from the band saw them take a concept approach to the record which was abandoned for SIGNED and SEALED which takes the form of a straight up and down kick ass collection of tracks.

Before they arrived in town, Dropkick hit headlines following an incident involving (a now very beaten and bruised) neo-Nazi who crashed the stage. The event resulted in threats towards the band, suggesting their safety was at risk while in Australia…but spirits remained high regardless. Check out the interview for more.
