Interview: Dune Rats – “The Best Part Of Being A Real Band Is Drinking For Free”

Brisbane punk rockers Dune Rats are set to release their self-titled debut album on Friday, 1st June, and the group recently sat down with Music Feeds‘ very own Mike Hohnen to discuss the album and their forthcoming tour dates.

“We wrote ’em all live, we didn’t want to write them in the studio like sometimes happens. We just worked for a month and a bit, just heaps of smoking cones and writing songs in the shed and we got good at both,” is what the album’s process purportedly entailed. Check out the release’s lead single Funny Guy, right here.

Dune Rats have a huge global tour lined up, which will be taking them through South Africa, Europe, and Asia, before they embark on a nine-date tour across Australia in June in support of the album’s release. What can we expect from these dates? “We’re gonna try and buy a box and that’s why you’ve gotta come, so you can find out what’s in there. What’s in the box?”
