Interview: Elbow at Splendour in the Grass 2011

Celebrating their twenty years anniversary, Elbow is a band who have created success through experience. With the success of their album The Seldom Seen Kid, which won the coveted Mercury Prize, they have now released their innovative, stimulating new record: Build a Rocket, Boys!

MusicFeedsTv spoke with Guy and Pete about the album and the issues with following up such a highly acclaimed album and a tour which spanned over a year and a half. Guy spoke openly about the song writing process and that he was drawn to nostalgia for writing his new songs. We also talked about the world of technology in music and the need, or lack of it, to connect with fans through social media like twitter.

They played their set at dusk, with their melancholy sounds adding a new dimension to a festival dominated by DJs and cock rock. The highlight came from their new single Neat Little Rows which came complete with a string section and huge audience belting out the chorus.
