Interview: Marlow On MFTV, Sydney 2012

After their previous single I Can Breathe shot straight passed the independent charts to the Today FM charts, all eyes are currently on Sydney-based alternative/progressive outfit Marlow, who are faced with the challenge of backing up that success. Blake and Travis caught up with Feeds, and it does indeed look as though said success is on the cards.

September 7 will see the band’s new single Always There officially debut. Drawing on the momentum established through their previous release and subsequent gigging, the band found themselves in the perfect position to make more music. As the lads discuss, the impact of I Can Breathe was a major motivator to keep the ball rolling, and with the video clip service soon to take place and a massive string of tour dates, the band is showing no signs of slowing down at all.

Spirituality, context, and personal experiences (both past, present, in this world or the next) are all influences that Marlow draws upon in the studio. The band explains that they all feel a connection when they jam something just right. They dim the lights, and keep the magic flowing.

The band will be hitting the road with genre buddies sleepmakeswaves but will also be performing a handful of headlining dates. Blake and Trav also discuss the band’s live status. They have a stage presence that will leave you walking away as though you’d just had your soul gently (though at times aggressively) stroked.
