Interview: Moses Gunn Collective On Their New EP ‘Morning Shakes’

Brisbane psych-rock four-piece Moses Gunn Collective are in the middle of launching their latest EP Morning Shakes at shows across the east coast and, according to the band, listeners can expect some “soulful crooning” on the record as well as “dreamy bliss erect feelings” and “a sense of community”.

A few lineup changes and a slightly new direction in sound may have delayed getting the new EP out, but now it’s here, the band say it’s being received very well by fans. When we caught up with the band at Sydney’s Clock Hotel, they told us how they recorded the entire thing live. “It’s got a lot more groove to it than previous stuff we’ve done where it was multi-tracked,” explains band-member Alex.

Fans can catch Moses Gunn Collective at their final EP launch show at Melbourne’s Shebeen on Wednesday, 10th December as well as at this year’s Falls Festival. In terms of the live show, expect both glitter and sassy outfits inspired by cowboys.
