Interview: Owl Eyes – “I Always Want People To Create Their Own Stories”

Preparing to hit the highways of Australia this coming May, Owl Eyes stopped by Music Feeds Studio for not one, but two live performances and hung around to chat about the back story behind her highly coveted debut album, Nightswim.

The release has been 2 years in the making, as we learnt, with Owl Eyes finding herself often rewriting songs many times over. But nothing worth having comes easy, and with a stellar team for support the hard labour paid off. The songstress explains the process behind the single Closure, which was rewritten 5 times and almost didn’t make it onto the album.

With a solid amount of ears already pricked up, Owl Eyes is about to hit the road to face her biggest audiences yet. We chat about the creepy fan factor for a bit but it seems the positives of the upcoming tour and the long-awaited return to the stage for Owl Eyes and band are way more important.
