Interview: Sheppard – “Trying To Make Sad Things Happy”

Brissy indie poppers Sheppard have been the latest outfit to stop by Music Feeds studio for a chat. We were fortunate enough to get 4 of the 6 band members in one spot, which isn’t to bad.

Still starting out in the game, Sheppard give us a run down of the ways in which the universe conspired to bring them together as a band. We get to the bottom of what each member brings to the table musically and weigh up the pros and cons of Australian indie pop vs. alternative pop. The differences of which are subtle, but many and varied.

The band prides themselves on their uncanny ability “to make sad things happy.” If we may draw your attention to the track Let Me Down Easily – a fun and upbeat ditty about heartbreak – a case in point.

The band suggested mid-2013 for the arrival of their debut full-length album so get that self-titled EP pumping before the next instalment rocks up.
