Interview: The Aston Shuffle At Bigsound 2012

Fresh out of hibernation, The Aston Shuffle have returned with a string of tour dates as well as a new single in anticipation of a forthcoming album.

Strange talk, Elizabeth Rose and Rufus were just some of the BIGSOUND Live lineup getting The Aston Shuffle excited about the event. The single, Can’t Stop Now is the first time we’ve heard from the duo since they were crowned as releasing the best Australian dance music track in the past decade. The boys are quick to laugh off the accolade, preferring to keep it at the back of their minds rather than let that affect their future music.
The conversation turns towards the current state of dance music on an international scale, whether or not certain countries dominate the genre, and if it was Australia’s time to shine, given the current hype around some of our home-grown DJ/Producers. The Aston Shuffle maintain that it’s a global movement, rather than being separated by countries – good music will always be good music.
