Interview: The Temper Trap – Acoustic Awakening

The Temper Trap may no longer call Australia home on a daily basis, but the UK-based band from Melbourne haven’t forgotten their roots. The indie rock outfit have released an Australian Collectors Edition of last year’s self-titled album.

The reissued album comes with three previously unreleased tracks, Want, The Trouble With Pain, and Everybody Leaves in the End, and acoustic renditions of songs from both 2012’s The Temper Trap and 2009’s Conditions.

However, rather than just being unplugged re-recordings, acoustic tracks like Need You Love and Love Lost have been reconstructed to take on on a life almost separate from their original identity.

Speaking with bassist Jonathon Aherne and guitarist Lorenzo Sillitto backstage at Future Music in Sydney, the two Temper Trap members talked acoustic tracks, remixes and returning to Australia.
