Interview: Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – New Album Buzz, Festivals & Shows, New Remixes
Orlando Higginbottom, the brains behind hyped UK dance act Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, sits in for a chat with Music Feeds at Sydney’s Universal Music Studios. The solo producer is in Australia for one exclusive show at Oxford Art Factory on Thursday, October 4 that sold out in just 40 minutes. Building off monstrous buzz from his recent release of debut album Trouble, TEED was announced recently as the first act on the Field Day lineup, despite cancelling his appearance last year. Incredibly apologetic about cancelling his previous tour, Orlando is keen to make it up to Australian audiences by following up his double new year’s festival appearances with a host of sideshows, of which he states there are more to be announced.
Your Love will be the next single from the album, although he is unsure on the Australian release due to never having met his Australian label counterparts. Expect a worldwide debut remix of Your Love on his triple j exclusive mix tape, which premieres this Saturday night. Widely renowned for staying away from trends, Orlando also explores the idea that popular dance music, in particular house music, is quite vacuous in the sense that it has been done before and lacks the substance that gives it longevity.
Orlando will be playing Field Day, Falls Festival and Southbound this summer, as well as sideshows in Brisbane and Melbourne. Stay tuned for more sideshow announcements!
