Interview: Vydamo – Breakfast Is Served (Part 1)

Vydamo is the side project of Jim Finn, more commonly known as one third of electro rock act Art vs. Science. When his AVS bandmates Dan McNamee and Dan Williams went aboard for some R&R, Finn was left to his own devices to write music without the help of his band.

What emerged from Finn’s solo sessions was the catchy feel-good singalong single Gonna Make It, which found its way into triple j’s Hottest 200 of 2012 at #159. This track was recently followed up by the more subdued by no less uplifting Hurricane.

Upon meeting Finn it’s obvious where the bountiful energy of his music comes from. The singer and multi-instrumentalist is abuzz about Vydamo and the opportunities his side project has allowed, with Finn revisiting his childhood musical influences for inspiration.

Vydamo will hit the road for an Australian east coast tour in April. Vydamo’s debut album is expected out soon.
