Jep And Dep – ‘Honeymoon’ (Lana Del Rey Cover)

Currently putting the finishing touches on their second album, Sydney’s own folk noir duo Jep And Dep have just released a stunning cover of Lana Del Rey‘s Honeymoon as a tease of things to come. Now the cover getting its own moody black and white video to boot

Having fallen instantly in love with the song when they first heard it, the duo wished they’d written it themselves. Deciding the next best thing would be to just make it their own via the time honoured tradition of the stripped back cover, the result speaks for itself.

“We loved the tragedy, the emotion, the drama and we just knew wanted to cover it”.

Heightening the melodrama and tragedy of the song by stripping it back to its bare bones, their approach is also in keeping with their sparse aesthetic and sound. Hinting at what to expect from their forthcoming follow up to 2014’s independently released Word Got Out, the cover has the band’s fans and followers drooling in anticipation.

You can pick up the track for yourselves here.
