Live: High Highs – Open Season (Live at Music Feeds Studio)

High Highs ascended the stairs to Music Feeds Studio on the day their debut album Open Season was released to lay down a couple of live performances. The first song is the title track Open Season, a single that Australian fans are well acquainted with.

An acoustic-based dream-pop ballad, Open Season is a perfect example of the comforting tones of High Highs’ music. Carried by the high pitch of singer Jack Milas’ voice and a sense of euphoria, Open Season is comparable to songs by fellow dream pop acts Beach House and Goldfrapp.

Made up of Jack Milas on vocals and Oli Chang on the synths, the Australian duo based in New York returned home to perform their first Australian headlining shows and tour as part of this year’s St Jerome’s Laneway Festival.
