Milwaukee Banks – Pluto Bounce
New music video from Melbourne two piece Milwaukee Banks, for their latest track Pluto Bounce. The clip was shot on expired 16mm Kodak Aerochrome III infrared film in Wonthaggi and Heyfield, about 2 hours from Melbourne.
“16mm infrared film reacts to infrared light in healthy plant life, and basically turns everything green to a red or bright pink color. We had seen this effect in a piece done by Richard Mosse titled ‘The Enclave’ and we all thought the results were stunning.
We also wanted something otherworldly or psychedelic for the clip, so the 16mm infared idea fit perfectly. We wanted the viewer to have to really imagine and engage from the start of the video. When you see the pink landscape, you immediately have to imagine a place that isn’t here, and use your minds eye to work out the story.
Shooting the actual video was difficult. The video was shot over a weekend, and due to the analogue nature of the film and equipment used, we could only shoot at dawn or dusk each day.” – Milwaukee Banks
