Olympia – ‘Tourists’

Melbourne singer-songwriter and and multi-instrumentalist Olympia has unveiled the stunning new music video for Tourists, the latest single lifted off her forthcoming album, which is due for release next year.

The song itself channels 80’s new wave, with a delicate composition of synths and guitars, while the accompanying clip invokes a dream-like underwater world.

Olivia Bartley, the creative force behind Olympia, says the song was inspired by a piece of poetry by artist Jenny Holzer: In a dream you saw a way to survive and you were full of joy.

“I was having terrible dreams at the time of writing the album,” she explains. “I was flicking through old notebooks and Holzer’s quote struck me like cordite, flicking a switch between the internal and external.”

Tourists follow’s Olympia’s previous single releases, Honey and This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things.

Catch Olympia performing the track live when she heads out on tour this November and December. Check out her full list of tour dates via Facebook.
