Possibly one of the most complex and eccentric musicians of our time, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of The Mars Volta gets deep and meaningful with Mikey Carr at Sydney’s Big Day Out 2010.

The Big Day Out festival holds a special place for Rodriguez-Lopez – mainly it’s often the last stop on The Mars Volta world tour – but also because it was on stage here in Sydney, in 2001, that At The Drive In effectively broke up. He says it was “the most important moment in my life” and began a whirlwind of creative and personal exploration that continues to this day. Heavy, mate. Heavy.
