Sahara Beck – ‘Here It Comes’

Australia’s own Sahara Beck is an artist who wears her passions on her sleeve and leaves pretension at the door. Unabashedly beholden to the legends of blues, jazz and r’n’b, her own music draws on all of them while remaining uniquely her own.

A huge part of this is the personal charm she manages to put into every song, and her latest single Here It Comes is no exception. A sultry yet catchy little tune, there are no histrionics here, just effortless cool and a hint of a playfulness.

The video for the clip keeps this up, re-imagining her band’s instruments as household items and having a whale of time doing it, it turns out.

“Making this video was so much fun. We ended up making it in my house with my housemate and band members. Because my housemate isn’t the usual bass player we made him a bass out of a shovel and a string which lead to the decision of going all out with this look and re creating everyone’s instruments with household objects which represented their instrument,” she said.

The first taste of forthcoming album Panacea, Beck has a big year ahead of her including two nights playing at Bluesfest this year, returning to the festival for the second time, and surely not the last.
