Self Is A Seed – ‘Doctor’ (Live At Music Feeds Studio)

Sydney 4-piece Self Is A Seed have been super busy – they released their debut album Siren last month and they’re mid-way through an Australian tour – but singer and guitarist David Bleus found time to drop by the Music Feeds studio and treat us to a live performance of Doctor.

Doctor is totally different to anything else on Siren, with an almost folky feel. It’s in stark contrast to their usual ballsy rock ‘n’ roll, but it’s no less intense – this 2-minute gem might be stripped back but it still packs one hell of a punch. Bleus was inspired to write the song after reading about a sinister religious cult in the Czech Republic, controlled by a figure known only as ‘The Doctor’, who gave followers directions through text messages to torture their children. It’s some pretty heavy material that makes for one creepy track.

You can catch Self Is A Seed live in Sydney and Brisbane this weekend.
