Soundwave 2014 Interviews: Rob Zombie
Music Feeds was lucky enough to get a few minutes with the spookmaster himself, Rob Zombie, ahead of his set at Soundwave 2014 at Olympic Park in Sydney, who besides telling us which band and film he’d listen to/watch for the rest of his life, let us in on why he prefers club shows to festivals:
“I would rather do our own show, mostly because you have more control over it. Like, last night was a disaster in a lot of ways. The sound was messed up, the power on stage was screwed up. These are things you could control at your own show, but at a festival they’re sort of rushing bands on and rushing bands off.
“There’s a lot of mistakes… I like the festival thing, it’s the technical aspects that I prefer with the solo show.”
Rob then filled us in on his plans for the rest of the year, saying, “We’re gonna do a little run in the US and then we’ll head back to Europe for the festival season and then probably shut it down after the summer, because I’m gonna start a new film in September.” Rob kept the details “under wraps,” but promised he’ll “start that pretty soon.”
