The Audreys – ‘My Darlin’ Girl’ (Acoustic)

Music Feeds recently caught up with acclaimed Adelaide duo The AudreysTaasha Coates and Tristan Goodall — for a quick interview and Taasha and Tristan found it in their hearts to grace us with an incredible acoustic performance of their track My Darlin’ Girl, the first single from their newly released fourth studio album, Til My Tears Roll Away.

The album is the follow-up to 2010’s Sometimes The Stars, which scored the ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album and sees the pair return once again to producer Shane O’Mara, who’s worked with the band on each of their previous ARIA Award-winning albums, including 2006′s Between Last Night And Us and 2008′s When The Flood Comes, which peaked at no 20 on the ARIA chart.

“This track started as a sleazy guitar riff,” said Goodall of My Darlin’ Girl.”It has a goofy prog-rock inspired key change that I’m happy to say is an Audrey first, and a general hard-rockin’, hard-drinkin’ vibe.”
