The Cairos Announce Headline Tour For July!

Yesterday MFTV caught up with Ally and Alf, two members of Brisbane indy pop band The Cairos. The next two days see the band performing alongside Mute Math, and continuing performances throughout the month of June with Deep Sea Arcade. However the really big news is that they are set to embark on their very own feature length tour. Rather then being a support band The Cairos plan to give audiences a real opportunity to see the full spectrum of their music. The excitement will all kick off in July!

The Cairos have already toured with the likes of Powerderfinger, Blue Juice, The Temper Trap, You Am I, Custard, and Jet but when it comes to touring they most enjoyed the company of band Blue Juice. “You knew it was just going to be chilled out, no one was angry, it was just like… We’ve toured with some people who have been pretty angry.” When asked just which band was angry on tour Ally laughs off the question saying “I’m not allowed to say.”

Having been in the industry for the last five years the band was originally discovered by the A&R of Island Records. In that time they’ve come along way from their first meeting saying “Back then we had no idea what we were doing. They said we’re going to have a meeting and we ask them ‘ok well we want a manager, we want a booking agent, we want this now…. very funny, year we were just so amateur. But I think being around for that long and learning the lessons makes you appreciate it so much more now.”

The Cairos also talk about their forthcoming EP and describe the songs on it as the “best that we’ve done in the last two years” before accidentally letting slip that a new album is already planned.
