The Stiffys – ‘King Of The Internet’
When you name a song King Of The Internet there’s a certain expectation regarding the virality of the piece, and while The Stiffys’ new video is no funny cat YouTube masterpiece, it’s an ace clip.
There are space suits, bottles of passion pop, cake and a live artwork in the video, making for pretty captivating stuff, particularly when the Melbourne duo, even without all the props, are such charismatic rockers.
“This is our third video and honestly I think we’re getting great at them,” the band said in a statement that we tend to agree with. They’ve come along way since they introduced themselves on YouTube dressed in sailor suits in a cheaply shot video. They were holding bottles of champagne too though – some things never change.
King Of The Internet was filmed over 10 hours as a time lapse/stop animation video with the camera taking a photo every 15 seconds. While this was being filmed, artists Chris Edser and Sam Barratt created the EP artwork live behind The Stiffys.
The EP it’s taken from is called Art Rock One and is due for release 10th September.
