WATCH: Damon Albarn – ‘Everyday Robots’

Blur and Gorillaz frontman, Damon Albarn has just unveiled the title track and video from his forthcoming debut solo album Everyday Robots, due out internationally on 28th April.

The clip makes use of CGI software in tandem with brain scans of Albarn himself to create what is called a ‘digital portrait’ of the artist. The song gives fans a taste of the sonic territory explored by Albarn in his long-awaited debut. It features a string section and a creaky piano, the sound described by Albarn himself as “sort of folk soul”

The new record also features notable collaborators, including Natasha Khan of Bat for Lashes and Brian Eno. Of Eno, Albarn told Rolling Stone, “I used to go to a health club that he goes to as well, but he always did much more interesting things than I did. I’d be on a mind-numbing running machine, and he took water aerobics classes. He was very Eno about it.”
