WATCH: Eagulls – ‘Possessed’

Since forming in 2009, Leeds-based Eagulls have become synonymous with a discontented, disillusioned kind of anger, moulded into bullets of melodic post-punk that’s rife with urgency and aggression. The stellar track, Possessed, from their self-titled debut reinforces that reputation.

The video for Possessed, the album’s highlight, was produced and directed by Plastic Zoo and visually invokes the track’s anarchistic vision of an arsonist’s fantasy, featuring fast paced, black and white cuts of a kid setting a shopping trolley alight.

The band say the song conveys a message of frustration and sardonicism that fuels Eagulls and lights a match under their first LP. They’ve already introduced the track to the world with an appearance on David Letterman and are set to embark on a European tour. The Eagulls’ self-titled debut will hit shelves in Australia on April 11th and is available on iTunes now.
