WATCH: Spoon – ‘Do You’

Spoon have unveiled their latest music video for the single Do You, off their first album in four years, They Want My Soul. In the clip, directed by Hiro Murai, known for his work with Childish Gambino, Queens of the Stone Age, St Vincent, and Earl Sweatshirt, lead singer Britt Daniel is chased by an unknown, sinister force, which later turns out to be something… well, kinda cute.

“Not to get super heady about a music video concept,” Murai told Urban Outfitters, “but I’m really interested in a pocket moment that takes place in a doomsday world.” The video, Murai conceded, ultimately serves a metaphor for Los Angeles. “Hey, once you own the chaos of the apocalypse,” he said, “there’s a certain kind of calmness to it.”

Meanwhile, the video represents a new step for the frontman. “We’ve never really made a video where I totally understood the concept,” he said. “But this one, I get it.” They Want My Soul is slated for release Friday, 1st August and is available for pre-order now – get all the details over here.
