Gather up your watermelons because the cinematic universe of Dirty Dancing is set to be brought to glorious life down under in 2019, bleeding out of the screen to plunge fans into an immersive cinematic experience.
Kellerman’s Mountain Resort will hit Sydney and Melbourne in March in the debut event from the Mushroom Group’s new joint venture with Underground Cinema, ‘Immersive Cinema’, recreating Patrick Swayze’s 1987 film classic in the real word with life-size sets, 50+ actors and dancers and, of course, a screening of the beloved movie.
Fans are invited to bag their phones and dress up in the 1963 New York summer dress code for their stay at Kellerman’s, where they’ll be free to participate in a slew of resort activities including craft classes, tasting the finest American diner food, hitting the golf range, taking Foxtrot lessons or relaxing in a salon with a delectable cocktail as the sun sets.
