Songwriter and producer behind some of the biggest pop and R&B hits of the late 90s and 2000s, LaShawn Daniels, has died after being involved in a car accident. He was 41 years old.
CNN was told by Daniels’ publicist Jojo Pada that he “died as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.”
Daniels was instrumental in producing some of the most iconic and notable R&B and pop hits of the past two decades. These include Destiny’s Child’s seminal hit ‘Say My Name’ as well as ‘Lose My Breath’, the legendary duet between Brandy and Monica ‘The Boy Is Mine’ and even Whitney Houston’s ‘It’s Not Right But It’s Okay’ to name a few.
More recent writing credits include Lady Gaga & Beyoncé’s ‘Telephone’ and Tamar Braxton’s ‘Love And War’.
Artists such as Kehlani, DAWN, Ryan Hemsworth, Victoria Monét, Kirk Franklin and more eulogised the songwriting legend on social media.
