Watch Billy Corgan Perform New Songs From Upcoming Solo Album ‘Cotillions’

Late last week, Billy Corgan announced that third solo album Cotillions is set for release in a few weeks, scheduled for a Friday, 22nd November drop date.

Now, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman has kicked off his current American solo tour with a show at Los Angeles’ Lodge Room.

Primarily performing alone with an acoustic guitar, Corgan performed a bevy of new songs from the upcoming double album. As Consequence of Sound reports, the first half of the set consisted of eight Cotillion tracks in a row, before a second set of Pumpkins favourites along with covers of Shannon Van Etten and Little Jimmy Dickens.

In an Instagram post announcing Cotillions, Corgan wrote that the album is a “true labor of love,” urging fans not to miss the chance to “hear it for yourself before others tell you what my songs are or aren’t.”

“We live in a different world now, where an artist can speak directly to you without the filter of mass media shaping your heart and opinions before you’ve even had a chance to decide whether this music speaks to you. And this is absolutely an album from my heart.”

Watch Corgan play new songs ‘Hard Times’, ‘Cri de Coeur’ and ‘Dancehall’ below.
