Chris Cornell Biopic ‘Black Days’ Set To Start Filming Next Month

Black Days, the film centred around the final days of Chris Cornell‘s life, is set to start filming next month according to the production companies Road Rage Films LLC and AmeriFilms LLC.

The movie is set to be based on real events taking place just before Cornell’s tragic passing in 2017, happening the night of his final show with Soundgarden.

Little details are known about the film so far, though it is set to star Johnny Holiday. Holiday is no stranger to the musician biopic, having also starred in the Academy Award-winning Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line.

To adhere to current COVID-19 restrictions in California, production will take place with a small crew, with most actors being filmed by themselves. In addition, all the crew will be wearing masks and adhering to social distancing restrictions.

Last month, a never-before-heard recording of Cornell covering a Guns-N-Roses classic – ‘Patience’ – was released via Cornell’s widow, Vicky, to commemorate what would have been Cornell’s 56th birthday.

“Listening to [the cover] again after so many years it was hauntingly beautiful; it brought it all back in a rush of bittersweet memories,” Vicky said in a statement.

“His birthday seemed the perfect time to share this and celebrate Chris, his voice, music, stories, and art.”
