The 411: Sahxl is an 18-year-old vocalist from the hotbed of hip hop talent that is Western Sydney. His new single ‘My Mind’ was produced by Jofromyo (Pop Smoke, A Boogie With Da Hoodie, G Herbo). ‘My Mind’ follows Sahxl’s recent streaming sleeper hits, ‘Demons’ and ‘C4’, as well as his expository 2020 release, ‘The Kid Freestyle’.

Sahxl has been writing and recording since the age of 12. He caught the attention of producer Khaled Rohaim (Rihanna, Polo G, OneFour) when he was just 13 and has been refining his songwriting and vocal abilities ever since. Sahxl’s music is an outlet for self-expression and catharsis.

“Music was the only way that I could find sanity through the things that were going on around me in my life,” he said in a statement. “I have always had a lot of energy built up inside, and I had nowhere to put it because I was very lost.”

Review: On ‘My Mind’, Sahxl demonstrates his vocal dexterity across contemporary R&B and trap-adjacent production. It’s an emotional song, born of longing and regret. “I hate how you don’t ever leave my mind,” he sings in the chorus. “I swear it’s getting hard to breathe sometimes / I hate you can never leave my mind.” Sahxl and producer Jofromyo combine to create an understated track with hooks aplenty.
