The Killers Pause Concert for Medical Emergency at Festival

The Killers halted their performance during the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco on August 9 after a festivalgoer experienced a “medical emergency.” The band was performing at Golden Gate Park when lead singer Brandon Flowers noticed the situation and alerted security to get medical help.

In a video captured by fans, the 43-year-old singer stopped mid-song, saying, “Sorry, security, check it out. There are people back there, there’s something going down.” The quick response was praised for helping to manage the situation effectively.

Jonathan Baxter, a spokesperson for the San Francisco Fire Department, highlighted the importance of the band’s actions, stating, “By stopping the music and letting the crowd know, letting the medical people do their stuff, it’s a benefit to the person experiencing the medical emergency and, in some cases, it can help save a life.”

After their performance at the festival, The Killers are set to begin their ‘Hot Fuss’ residency at The Colosseum in Las Vegas on August 14. The residency will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, “Hot Fuss,” released in 2004. Fans can expect to hear classic tracks from the album played in full, along with eight or nine additional singles.

Speaking on the ‘Smartless’ podcast, Brandon Flowers shared, “It is 20 years of our first record and we are going to play it front to back, and then we will do eight or nine singles.”

Recently, The Killers released their latest single, “Bright Lights,” inspired by Las Vegas and Martin Scorsese’s 1995 film “Casino.”
