Rohin Jones, the magnetic frontman from Townville’s on-again-off-again The Middle East has proven he’s capable of great things in any situation he chooses.
Today, Jones’ latest offering comes in the form of a duet with Magic Dirt’s Adalita. The atmospheric, minimal yet by no means underwhelming track titled Everybody Wants to Be Your Friend is one of many tracks concocted by Jones, who is currently recording and gigging under the moniker ‘R.L.Jones’. This is the first time we’ve heard from the singer/songwriter since the band called it quits during last year’s Splendour in the Grass.
The Middle East hit it big after their track Blood landed on the closing credits of Crazy, Stupid, Love, though momentum was lost soon after that, allowing the frontman to focus on this new project. You will be hearing a lot more from the man who coined himself as a ‘Part-Time Bum’, with an album expected to drop next year through Spunk.
Take a listen to the track below; the cruisey mellow vibe is a great way to shake those Monday morning blues.
