Kylie Minogue has made many a boyhood dream and adult fantasy come to life by taking on the role of iconic ’80s cartoon character She-Ra. With cape, sword and headpiece Kylie battles arch rival Edwin ‘Skelly’ Skeletor in the gripping live action NBC series.
But the new show isn’t simply a reboot to cash in on ’80s pop culture. It’s far more rebootier than that, with plenty of dramatic twists and turns like jail busts and…unexpected pregnancy. There’s even a surprise guest with She-Ra’s bro He-Man lending a helping hand.
Sound too good to be true? It probably is, but thanks to Funny Or Die, we can at least see what something of this nature would actually be like. It’s actually kind of nice to know we don’t have to endure this type of thing on Australian televis… Oh, wait, it’s exactly like that.
Alfie Allen, who must have enjoyed taking a break from being tortured mercilessly in Game Of Thrones, plays the aforementioned E.S. Skeletor in the spoof clip. As Skeletor, Allen challenges She-Ra’s physical limits and mental fortitude, while also finding time for his own spin-off sitcom.
Check out the season ‘teaser’ below. It’s easily the most entertaining He-Man-related clip since that time Prince Adam covered 4 Non Blondes What’s Going On.
