For more than twenty years New York’s Anthrax have been a driving force in the metal community. In the 1980s they helped redefine the conventions of the metal genre, favouring anger, speed and emotional intensity over big hair and power ballads.


The Underground Lovers

Underground Lovers are Australia’s answer to the likes of Joy Division, New Order and the Cure, bridging the gap between traditional drums and guitar rock, and electronic beats and atmospheric melodies.



They only formed two years ago, but that hasn’t stopped Baddies from taking over Europe. They’ve already headlined shows in Hamburg, Amsterdam and Paris and have played nearly every European festival there is (thirty three this year alone, to be exact).

With two EPs and now a debut album, Nothin’ under their belt, this three-piece from Bendigo has done a fine job of leaving the depths of central Victoria and its thriving Cold Chisel cover band scene behind.


Kid Sam

Kid Sam are two similarly named cousins from Melbourne, Kieran and Kishore Ryan. Their music carries with it a unique aesthetic that draws on elements of post rock and ambiance, with themes of violence, romance and the politics of the everyday.
