Go Behind The Scenes With The Belligerents & An Adorable Doggo On Their Wild ‘Flash’ Video

Brisbane rockers The Belligerents are gearing up to release their highly anticipated debut album Science Fiction this September, and they’ve already dropped a bonkers, doggo-starring video for their latest single, ‘Flash’.

The clip, directed by Greta Nash, features a brave pup who gets sent into space — but not everything goes to plan. Backed by the song’s spacey synths and infectious earworms, the video has an ’80s sci-fi aesthetic, but doesn’t take itself too seriously.

“For the ‘Flash’ video, we all wanted to begin exploring the ’80s sci-fi theme in a really tongue in cheek way,” says The Belligerents’ frontman, Lewis Stephenson.

“I remember walking onto set in the morning and feeling relieved that Greta Nash our director was able to decipher the inane drivel that was our explanation for how we wanted the set to look and feel.

“It was important that the thrust of the song was tying in with the narrative. Sparky the Dog had probably a much harder job than we did but we all managed to have some fun matching the building intensity throughout.

“It was our first time performing ‘Flash’ live together too, and whilst it was a long day, we’ve been stoked with how people have connected with it and used the visual to build their own relationship with the song itself.”
