PREMIERE: Doko Unveil Soaring New Single ‘Maybe Leave A Light On’

Sydney locals Doko are back with new music, in the form of a powerful new tune ‘Maybe Leave A Light On’.

We’re premiering the single, a hook-driven indie rock cut now added to the band’s impressive, growing catalogue of music.

To go with the catchy belter, Doko have revealed a video tribute to the ’70s and ’80s, which has been described by the band as a ‘self-intructional’ clip.

The clip is the brainchild of director Todd Logan (SIILA, Zafira), and Doko say it was inspired by iconic music TV shows of a by-gone era.

“The video idea was something director Todd Logan had for a while after we talked about our shared mutual love of live music TV broadcasts from the 70s and 80s, like Countdown, and music videos from the era,” the band tell Music Feeds.

“We really wanted to do a video inspired by that aesthetic.”

From the classic aspect ratio to the perfect lighting, Doko have absolutely nailed the vibe of the era.

As for the message behind the new tune? Well, if you’re navigating relationship turmoil and the challenges that come with it, “maybe leave a light on” to give yourself a chance to seeing where you’re going.

Having toured around the country with support duties for the likes of Eskimo Joe, Ali Barter and Alex Lahey, Doko have unfortunately postponed their 2020 tour of the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
