PREMIERE: The Gusset Reflect On The Virtue Of Staying Present With ‘Never Let Me Know’

With many of us stuck inside at the moment, one might find themselves reminiscing about sun-drenched days at the beach enjoyed just a couple months earlier. Luckily, Perth band The Gusset channel a lot of that vibe into their music, and today we’re premiering their latest single ‘Never Let Me Know’, a charming, hazy slice of coastal jangle-pop that follows up last year’s ‘Something Good’.

Beyond the surface, ‘Never Let Me Know’ sees the band confronting the pressure of constant upward momentum, and embrace the virtue of slowing it all down and letting yourself be happy with where you’re at.

“The track describes a time in our lives where we constantly feel the pressure to succeed and to continuously move forward in all aspects of life, whether it be music, work, or relationships,” explain the band.

“In order to achieve what we want, we often put pressure on ourselves which can, in turn, affect us in a detrimental way, both in a work and a social setting. Sometimes it becomes just all too much and you feel as if you just want someone to just stop you and let you know where you are at is just okay.”
