These Acts Have Already Been Ruled Out Of Splendour In The Grass 2017

UPDATE 24/03/17: Here’s when the 2017 Splendour In The Grass lineup is being announced.

ORIGINAL STORY: ICYMI: Splendour In The Grass dropped its festival dates for 2017 into our hot little laps this morning, meaning it’s officially time to start getting pumped like a Splendour-In-The-Craft balloon for this year’s musical extravaganza.

But today’s announcement has gone and done more than just to give us the opportunity to call in sick from work six months’ in advance, it’s also given us some early clues about the 2017 lineup. Specifically, who we won’t be seeing on it.

That’s because this year’s SITG weekend clashes with some other already-announced festivals on the international sched, including the just-announced Lollapalooza Paris, Rock In Roma, The UK’s Secret Garden Party, LA’s FYF Fest and Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party.

Now, some of those festivals’ lineups haven’t quite dropped yet, but some of ’em have, meaning they’ve automatically knocked a handful of huge-named Splendour contenders from across the worlds of rock, pop, hip-hop, R&B and EDM out of the running for this year’s bill.
