An Epic Supergroup Has Just Been Born, Featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Slash & Tom Morello

If you’re a fan of the hard rock and heavy metal genres, then first of all congratulations on your excellent taste in music. And second of all, chances are that, at some point in your life, one of your mates has asked you the following: if you could design the world’s greatest band, who would be in it?

It’s likely that your answer to that question may have included the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Slash and/or Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello. And in that case, congratulations again, because your dream band is now a reality.

The world’s newest allstar heavy metal collective teams half of Black Sabbath, with two of modern music’s most iconic guitar players, who have all come together to do battle against the dark forces of shit music. And voodoo.

As Consequence Of Sound reports, the riff-slinging suicide squad will join forces for a special performance at the New Orleans Voodoo Music Experience on Halloween night, which will mark their first and only North American show. However, they’re also tipped to be “playing together abroad in the coming months”.

We know. We’re not letting ourselves get too excited yet, and it’s surely way too premature to start slinging around the S-word, but you can bet your bat-heads we’ll be keeping a keen eye out for any new info on where Ozzy and his heavyweight bandmates will be performing on the international circuit.

You may remember there was talk of Black Sabbath playing their farewell show at Ozzfest Japan this year. However, those plans have since changed, with the Prince of Darkness now headlining the bill as “Ozzy + Friends”. The Voodoo announcement might just give us a sneaky indication of who some of Ozzy’s Ozzfest “friends” might be.

No word yet on who’ll be filling in on drum duties at either event, though it’ll undoubtedly be someone smarter than you are.

Also playing Voodoo in 2015 will be Florence and the Machine, Zac Brown Ban and deadmau5. The festival takes place from October 30th – November 1st at New Orleans’ City Park.
