Andrew W.K. Appointed US Cultural Ambassador To Middle East

LMAFO will be pissed. The self-proclaimed king of partying (and sometimes musician) Andrew W.K. has been appointed by the US Government to be the country’s Cultural Ambassador to The Middle East.

And what exactly is he going to be doing over there? You guessed it… according to his website, W.K. will visit the Middle East “to promote partying and positive power”.

Further details explain that the Party Hard singer “will begin his journey the first week of December, 2012 and will visit elementary schools, the University of Bahrain, music venues, and more, all while promoting partying and world peace.”

“This is a tremendous invitation”, W.K. said in a statement.

“I’m very thankful to the Department of State for giving me the opportunity to visit a place I’ve never been before. And I feel very privileged and humbled by the chance to represent the United States of America and show the good people of Bahrain the power of positive partying. I can hardly wait for this adventure!”

W.K. also took to Twitter with a definitive statement detailing his thoughts, which you can view at the bottom of this page.

It’ll sure be interesting to see how W.K. is received in the Middle East. It’s unsure whether he’ll be doing any live shows whilst on his trip, but if he does, we hope it’s better than the trainwreck of a performance he did at Groovin’ The Moo in Bendigo in May.
