Ásgeir Falls Festival Sideshows Announced

Icelandic singer and songwriter Ásgeir is set to return to Australia in a few months for the upcoming Falls and Southbound festivals and has now announced he will play two extra sideshows in January 2015 for Sydney and Melbourne audiences, as well as a set at Sydney’s Field Day festival.

Ásgeir will play headline shows on Wednesday, 7th January 2015 at the acclaimed Sydney Opera House and then will take the stage at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Friday, 9th January 2015. Accompanied by his family-featuring four-piece band, Ásgeir will showcase the lush sounds of his debut album In The Silence, which he recorded in both Icelandic and English.

The 22-year-old musician was in the country earlier this year as part of the Splendour in the Grass lineup. He marked his debut voyage to Australia both with a trip to a Sydney Zoo and also stopped by triple j for Like A Version, to perform a beautiful down-tempo cover of Stolen Dance, the hit song from chart topping German duo, and fellow Falls festival artists, Milky Chance.

UPDATE 17/10/14: Ásgeir has sold out his first Sydney Opera House sideshow and announced another performance set to take place at the venue earlier that same evening. See details below.
