A.B. Original Want To “Ruin” Triple M’s ‘Ozzest 100’ By Voting For ‘January 26’

UPDATE: Triple M Issues Statement In Response To ‘Ozzest 100’ Controversy

ORIGINAL STORY: Triple M has found itself in hot water after dissing triple j and launching its own Hottest 100-style countdown, and local hip hop duo A.B. Original are using the controversy to their advantage.

Triple M‘s new countdown — dubbed the ‘Ozzest 100’ — is set to take place on Australia Day in 2018, after triple j recently decided to change the date of its annual Hottest 100 so that it no longer takes place on 26th January.

Responding to Triple M‘s decision, A.B. Original’s Adam Briggs said, “Fuck Triple M. Bottom feeding, redneck scum, pandering to white nationalists & racists. Vultures, Fuck em.

“We should ruin Triple M’s redneck countdown and stick A.B. Original & Dan Sultan ‘January 26’ right in the middle of their cross burning.”

And that’s exactly what A.B. Original are doing, now calling on their fans to vote for ‘January 26’ as a stand against the ‘Ozzest 100’, and Triple M‘s decision to mock triple j‘s date change.

“The scum at Triple M have decided to run their own redneck countdown on January 26, because they’re bottom feeding rednecks,” Briggs says.

“Let’s ruin their party. Vote for us!”

A.B. Original’s new campaign comes after fans voted strongly for ‘January 26’ in triple j‘s Hottest 100 of 2016, after the station decided to keep the countdown on Australia Day in 2017. The song eventually placed at #16 in the Hottest 100.

This year’s Hottest 100, however, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 27th January, a day after Triple M‘s ‘Ozzest 100’.
