In a touching bit of pre-Origin spectacle, Powderfinger legend Bernard Fanning has dedicated a performance of his hit ‘Wish You Well’ to series retiree Johnathan Thurston.
The Cowboys five-eighth was on the scene despite getting ruled out of tonight’s decider with a season-ending shoulder injury, after announcing that this year would be the last time we saw him don a Maroons jersey.
And, following an emotional tribute to JT, Fanning came out to the middle of the stage (in a maroon suit-jacket no less) to serenade the league legend with his uplifting tune ‘Wish You Well’.
