Coachella kicked off in Indio, California over the weekend. It’s set to see 184 acts take to multiple stages over two weekends, and while pop superstar Beyonce wasn’t slated to be one of them, fans watching her sister Solange perform were treated to a dance routine courtesy of Mrs Carter herself.
According to Gigwise, Solange was concluding her scheduled set with the track Losing You from her 2012 extended play, True, when her sister walked onto the stage to massive screams from the crowd. The sisterly duo then proceeded to giddily perform a well-synchronised dance routine.
Solange’s set also included a minimal neo-soul rendition of Kate Bush‘s 1985 single Cloudbusting. Introducing the track, Solange explained that Kate Bush is one of her favourite artists and she’d been dropping hints to her boyfriend to get tickets to her upcoming comeback shows in London.
The weekend also saw the members of legendary Atlanta hip-hop crew Outkast take the stage for the first time since 2006, with Andre “3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton treating fans to a a 90-minute set that included some of their best-known songs like ATLiens, B.O.B, and Hey Ya.
