Bill Murray Dresses Like Liberace, Sings ‘I Will Always Love You’ On Letterman

Talk show superstar David Letterman celebrated 20 years on the air last night and to celebrate, he invited his first ever guest back, actor Bill Murray, who turned up dressed like piano virtuoso Liberace in a white fluffy coat and proceeded to belt out the Whitney Houston classic I Will Always Love You.

As part of the act, Murray dug up a time capsule he supposedly planted on his first appearance on the show, revealing a copy of Billboard that showed the theme song from The Bodyguard was the number one hit in 1993. The Ghostbusters legend then went on to show off his lack of singing chops with a delightfully warbly rendition of the hit, backed by Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra.

Murray also gifted the talk show host with an enormous poster of his own face and name, with some small print below reading “Wishes Dave a Happy 20th Anniversary”, discussed his upcoming films with both Wes Anderson and George Clooney, and generally made us fall in love with him all over again. Sigh.
