Bliss N Eso have released a statement following the death of a stunt man on the set of their music video in Brisbane today.
As Brisbane Times report, the man has been identified as 28 year-old Gold Coast stunt man and father of one Johann Ofner who was part of Bliss N Eso’s ‘Friend Like You’ film shoot at The Brooklyn Standard bar.
The band weren’t on set at the time but they have released a statement on social media saying they are, “incredibly saddened” by the “tragic incident”.
They described Ofner as “a professional stunt person” and said their management team are working with police and the production company to get more details.
“The three of us are extremely upset and shaken up by this and our hearts and prayers go out to the victim’s family and friends as well as the cast and crew who were involved in the clip today,” they further wrote.
A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed that, “Several firearms were discharged during a scene by several actors.”
“I can’t tell you whether they were live or real firearms, the type of ammunition being used, that will be subject to the investigation.”
Earlier today the venue released a statement saying that they would keep their doors closed tonight as police investigate what happened.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the individual involved, and we appreciate your respect and understanding at this time,” they wrote.
