Bloc Party Set To Release New EP This Winter

Bloc Party have some news to warm your winter – the British indie quartet have been back in the studio recording 6 new songs, according to guitarist Russell Lissack, which could potentially find their way onto an EP to be released in the coming months.

Lissack told Miami New Times, “We literally were just in the studio this week actually. We still need to do the vocals, but we’ve been working on 6 new songs. Depending on how the finished things pan out, we’re either going to put out a single or an EP. I think in June or July.”

But don’t expect anything predictable from the follow-up to 2012’s Four. Lissack says the new tracks are all very different to one another and that this EP will be as eclectic as the rest of their back catalogue. The as yet un-named potential EP from the Kele Okereke-fronted 4-piece may also feature new song Children Of The Future, which Bloc Party have been playing at their live shows in recent times.

Lissack was singing a similar tune when he spoke to Music Feeds earlier in the year, saying, “It’s not like a continuation of the record we’ve just made, it’s a completely separate thing. It’s the next step; the next progression.”
