Bright Eyes Are Counting Down To The Premiere Of Their First New Music In 9 Years

After a nine-year hiatus, Bright Eyes are teasing the release of new music and it’s just hours away from dropping.

‘Persona Non Grata’ will be released on Wednesday, March 24 in Australia, with a YouTube premiere to take place at 3:30am (AEDT).

The return of the US indie rockers isn’t exactly a surprise.

“After a 9 year hiatus, Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott have re-grouped to record and tour in 2020,” read a message on the band’s website earlier this year.

Bright Eyes then announced tour dates for 2020 after a #BrightEyes2020 hashtag started popping up all over the place.

Sadly that tour was postponed due to coronavirus concerns.

They also announced their first album since 2011’s The People’s Key will be released through record label Dead Ocean, but we weren’t sure we would get a taste of it so bloody soon!

Since their last record, the members of the band have been keeping busy.

Oberst released a handful of solo records, a new record with his punk outfit Desaparecidos, and formed the band Better Oblivion Community Center with songwriter Phoebe Bridgers.
